This one's optional but you could save as soon as you enter the lab.It can happen.pretty easily if you're not careful. After passing through the gates under the main-hall's stairs, this save is important in case Lisa kills you in the Altar fight.Save either before you encounter Enrico or after. Just in case, for whatever reason, you screw up with the boulders. You will not have to fight anymore Hunters in the mansion if you follow a specific path (and won't have to bother saving anymore either). Deal with him and if you choose, the two hunters outside the nearby save-room then save. After you've returned to the mansion, there's a Hunter who attacks.This is after you've obtained the Helmet Key and are ready to head back. After you enter but honestly you might want to just grab the Red Book out of the Spider-Pool Hall so that's out of the way first. She can deal a lot of damage and it would suck to die out here, so saving just before you encounter her is recommended. Not that Yawn can necessarily kill you but if you want to cut out a few needless minutes, avoiding getting poisoned during the fight can be essential. Since you'll probably be dropping off items anyways, saving now would be fine. After obtaining the sword key and making your way around to the very first save room (presuming here that this will be the East-Wing saveroom, with the wrapping stairwell outside).I made roughly 10 or so saves in my speed-run on the 360 version, which leaves you breathing room and breaks if you want! Not to mention you don't have to stress remembering the entire game for one sitting, just a section of the game to your choosing.
I'll eventually record my own speed run to add the achievement guide, if people wish they can save when I choose to and plot out their next movements following this. This is how I managed my Speed-Run, because it's not Save-sensitive like Code: Veronica X HD you'll be able to save as much as you wish. If you're using a video, this is a great opportunity to watch one and then pick a point in that video where you think you should save next.Īfter you're all set, simply exit out of the game and reload the save, now play as you would until the next place you wish to save. Plan out your path and how much you're going to do before the next save.
Go through a good ways before your first save and after you make that save, relax a bit. I wrote about the speed-run in my achievement guide however here's a general tip for the thread here: plan to make about 10 saves. You can cheat with a video however, you just need to manipulate saves. The clock runs while the game is paused, yes.
